199 Computer Stores - They sold me a defective computer

Update....I sent the defective laptop back on Jan, 7, 2011.Still no refund.

I contacted them recently and told them that I still have not recieved my refund. I also told them that if something wasn\'t done I would re-open the case with E-bay, and got a reply that my case was given to someone else to look at. The case was already resolved and they said they would give me a complete refund and now they\'re giving me the run around. Let me explain something.

I bought this laptop for my son for Christmas you couldn\'t imagine how I felt when my son told me the gift I gave him was defective and after explaining that to 199ComputerStores all I got was the run around.That is why I am pissed off.

I bought a defective computer from 199ComputerStore.com.After I found out the computer was defective I tried contacting them, it was immpossible.

Never answered their phones and never replied to e-mails. It wasn't until I created a case aginst them with Ebay that they finally responded. They said they would completely refund my money, which they never did. The case time limit ran out and Ebay closed the case.

Ebay won't respond to my e-mails unless I open up another case.

This could go on forever.These people are such crooks that they have another company name that they go by GrupoComp.

Don't put too much stock in the previous customer review. He has been running a personal smear campaign all over the net. We contacted him several times. We did just what he asked and what we promised. He has been embellishing his story. It evolves as time goes on.

We have been in business for many years with thousands of computers sold. One can't have that kind of success without 5 star customer service.

See our positive feedback from thousands of indavidual satisfied customers on eBay. You can't please everybody, but with over 98% positive ratings on Ebay, we keep trying.

I bought a Laptop from them and it only worked with the power adapter and not the battery.The battery was fine because the laptop recognized it and when you pressed the button at the bottom of the battery it reads a full charge also.

I read online that the problem was a Power Adapter in the Laptop itself. 199 Computer kept insisting it was a faulty battery. Read the fine print on their Ebay page.

It states "They are not responsible for the battery." The person in customer support told me that it's happened many times with their Laptops and all the people do is buy a new battery.Obviously this business is selling faulty Laptops.

I received a computer from Grupocomp.It gave up the ghost about 60 days after I received it -- conveniently 30 days after the guarantee ran out.

In spite of that, I got something in writing from them saying they would refund or replace the computer if I sent it back. I did exactly that and ever since then I have been given the runaround.

No one has given me any information about my refund and I have been unable to reach a human being at their company.I think whoever is running the "smear" campaign may be exactly RIGHT.

Wow...this guy is crazy.I own an online business as well and thank the stars that I haven't run into anyone as absolutely ridiculous as you.

I hope you feel good about yourself. Do you think you're saving the world from a bad person? Check their ebay scores and you'll see that you have completely misrepresented them. So you had a problem.

I guarantee that you were acting like a fool and being unreasonable.

I bet they still tried to go above and beyond but that wasn't enough to satisfy your wacked out head.Do this world a favor and shut your mouth.

Yes, you finally sent me a part --- I had to threaten you for --- and one of my friends installed it. We sent it back to you because it didn't work from day one. You tried to charge me for repairs, then after reluctantly fixing it without charging me --- you sent it back in exactly the same condition it was in originally (NOT WORKING). I love that some of the reviews on other sites (supposedly other satisfied customers) appear to be from you guys. When you read the responses attacking me from 199 computer stores (and calling me names) --- you can see similarities in writing style (actually misspellings). It is obvious you guys make up press on the net; writing your own reviews. So, how about this one: As long as you guys continue to say negative things about *this* disgruntled customer --- and you continue to attack me online. I will do the same. You should have never started this WAR. Send out the products you advertise. Make sure they work --- and don't try to charge people to repair products that should have been working from the start. Don't NOT answer their calls. Don't call them names online. Apologize. Fix the item and then Shut Up! That's about all any consumer wants from a company.

In case you guys don't understand... this is what most consumers expect:

1. Easily purchase a product

2. Receive the product they ordered

3. Receive a WORKING product

4. If it's not working YOU repair it for FREE

5. ANSWER your phone...

6. AND ABSOLUTELY DO NOT CALL THEM NAMES ONLINE

You guys must be very bad at business... and I have news for you (because I didn't notice all the things you said about me online)... things are about to get MUCH MUCH worse for YOU!!!

Just remember... In the end... when you are watching the demise of your business, and you are watching what I'm sure was hard work to start up your company all go down the drain... you will remember that it wasn't it disgruntled customer who destroyed your business... it was YOU, because you didn't care to start with, you added insult to injury by bashing your customer online (only making YOU look bad) and you continue to rip people off to this day (look at peajay's comment on one of the review sites --- citysearch, merchant circle??? I can't remember --- but I'm not the only one). Good luck guys... I'd like to see you insult your way out of what's coming to a Google Search near you.... very soon.

This place sold me a bad computer, manipulated me to cancel my disputes with the Better Business Bureau and PayPal by refunding my shipping costs for a repair for an item that didn't work in the first place and now I received the item and it doesn't work. Same problem. Never repaired... Furthermore, they will not answer my calls.

Do not ever, ever, ever, ever do business with these people. I purchased through Ebay and these people are probably the worst on Ebay.

Ebay, Ebay, Ebay -- stop letting these people sell on your site. Interesting that they specialize in computer repair. Either they aren't too bright in their industry or they manipulate people by selling them items that don't work and try to make money off the repairs.

What a disgrace this 199 computer stores, Grupocomp and acomputerforeverybody is.

Wacky?I suppose it's wacky to expect that a 199 Computer Stores deliver the items as described.

Your computers are ***. It took multiple attempts to get you to repair the computer --- You even tried to make me pay more money to have it fixed. You suck. You guys are awful, and I will continue to let people know.
